Magnet Stool

 
Bespoke Stainless Steel furniture design project. The Magnet stool is an occasional stool fabricated in stainless steel and upholstered in leather. Inspired by the iconic silhouette of the humble magnet. The design provides a structural seating arc with ample space to tuck in your feet.

The piece is concerned with exploring the possibility of creating a continuous surface from two distinctly different material types, where the structure makes a seamless transition from cold hard steel to tactile leather. This is made possible by a combination of highly advanced metal fabrication and artisan upholstery techniques. The same fabrication principles can be applied at a larger scale to create a table in Stainless Steel and Corian.
